No one is more pleased than us that Sony has finally seen the light and somehow found a way to condense last year’s lineup of 27 TVs to only ten new models for 2012, all due in Q1 2012. All of which fit into either the BX, EX or HX line. We’ll start at the top with HX. It is broken up into the HX850 or HX750, both available in 46 or 55-inches. All the HX models are Skype ready (optional CMU-BR100 camera and microphone) include Track ID, have built-in WiFi and provide access to the Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) as well as apps like Netflix and Hulu Plus. The key different between the 750 and the 850 is frameless Monolithic design and Motionflow XR 960 vs the 480 Motionflow flavor on the 750. The EX640 also has Motionflow, but the 240 type, and instead of having built-in WiFi like the HX, there’s a dongle in the box. SEN is available on the both the 40, 46 and 55-inch EX640, but no other apps are. Rounding out the lineup on the lower end is the BX450 CCFL back-lit available in 40 and 46-inches and finally the BX330, only available in 32-inches. Social butterflies on the go get a pint-sized version of the new feature
Whether you?love it or hate it, Facebook’s?new Timeline feature is here to stay. The newly revamped profile pages offer a quick glimpse into your social networking past, and while the web-based version ? as well as Facebook for Android ? received the refresh?last week, iPhone users are just now getting a taste of the mobile Timeline.
An update for the?iPhone Facebook app is now available through the App Store which adds the feature, and it takes just a few seconds to update. Once installed, the Timeline feature for iOS looks much like the web version, giving users a glimpse at their entire?social network history on one long page. Activity is divided by year, allowing you to minimize past events or expand them for a bit of nostalgia.
If you’re primarily a mobile social networker, you may not actually have a Timeline set up yet. To do so you can simply log on to your Facebook account through a web browser and head to the?Introducing Timeline page. From here you can customize your new layout and have 7 days to make tweaks before they go live.
iPad users will also get a taste of their very own Timeline feature when an update is released in the coming days. As the?iPad’s Facebook app offers much the same experience as the iPhone version, we expect that the Timeline will remain similar as well, though we’ll have to wait and see to be sure.
